The ApogeeBio programme, supported by the European Commission, consists in 3 international calls from 2021 till 2023 for a total of 24 fellowships for experienced researchers (ER) with hosting possibilities both in the academic and the private sectors of life sciences and environment.
This 2nd call and related conditions and documents is open for application. You will find below the list of hosting teams and the call documents and guidelines.
The 3rd and last call will be in 2023.

The fellows will have access to an attractive research offer including academic laboratories and private companies, all located at the Genopole biocluster.
They will benefit from an excellent research and innovation environment including high level infrastructures, as well as training and networking opportunities that will enhance their career development potential.
The table below shows the research fields of each academic laborartory within Genopole biocluster, however, not all the laboratories and companies will propose hoting possibility in this 1st call for applicants.

It is your responsibility as applicant to target the most appropriate research team and contact them prior to application.
In order to participate in the ApogeeBio programme, the applicants have to demonstrate that they are responding to the following binding eligibility criteria.

In order to apply to the call, applicants must register to the submission platform and complete their file on-line.
Registration on the submission system is mandatory, however you can have the requirements ofthe application file content here.
Once this step is taken, the applicant can sign up to the confidential area of the website and submit the application.
Each application that meets the eligibility criteria in full will be sent for review by 3 independent expert evaluators. The Independent Expert Committee will be briefed on the evaluation criteria and selection process and will complete an assessment of the applications that takes into consideration a range of criteria designed to evaluate the excellence of the research as well as the potential of the researcher to deliver original, independent work with the vision and creativity to develop their profile in a context of international and cross-sectoral research leaders. To evaluate the applications, the extended CV, the research proposal and the personal statement will be examined.
After the final selection step (interview step), the applicant is notified of the result (before June, 2023).
A grant is prepared between the selected applicants and the hosting institution of company.
Once and only once the grant is signed the research can start.
In your proposal, you must show clearly that you have identified all the ethics check-points and that you will submit it to the appropriate competent authorities before starting your project.

Founded many years ago, the partners strictly respect French labour law in the field of research, which guarantee full remuneration package including full social security coverage in compliance with the European Research Charter. Particular attention will be paid to the information given to foreign researchers on their labour rights.

The scientific environment
The biocluster is a dense and large ecosystem in which you will find 26 shared technological platforms, a campus of the university of Evry-Paris Saclay and the hospital what covers over than 700 000 residents. 18 academic laboratories with specific research projects and a lot of researchers in different areas. The laboratories of the biocluster have high standards in the technological environment for the research on areas like molecular biology or stem cells. Furthermore, this environment permits an easy and fluid communication between all the members of the biocluster thanks to the proximity.

Take advantage of the sport structures in Evry during your free time. To facilitate your arrival in the biocluster, a day nursery exists for your young children and there is a residence with different type of apartments in which you could stay by waiting to find another housing or just stay in it.
Choose a life close to Paris and the nature. Benefit from the unmatched cultural of Paris with the monuments, the museums and the stores or relax in the nature on weekends by walking in the surrounding forests (Sénart, Rougeau, Fontainebleau). The Escale association oversees the federation of all the way of life of the genopolitans through the sport, the culture and the wellbeing by proposing different activities. The Escale will give you the opportunity to meet other members of the biocluster during the 2 open schedules per day in which you can practice different sportive or cultural activities you could choose.
You can benefit of the 180 housing of the Barataud residence for students. The prices of location in the residence are very affordable, and the residence is located near to the “Evry Bras de fer” station if you want to go in Paris or in another city of the region.
Science Accueil helps you through your mobility process and administrative procedures and provides you with information regarding daily life in France. Administrative services of Science Accueil are free. Science Accueil develops programs facilitating the integration process as well as discovering French culture. For instance, share a meal with a French family, participate in a reassurance program or take French courses. It provides you with various services, programs and information necessary for your arrival in France
